What did we learn at DAVOS 2025? That the Future of Work is Human!

The 2025 World Economic Forum held in Davos focused on the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the future of work, presenting conclusions that promise to transform how we approach happiness, talent, and productivity. This annual event, organized by the World Economic Forum, reinforced that technology should serve as an ally to improve people’s lives, not just to generate profit.

Among the main topics discussed was the impact of AI on the labor market. According to the presented report, it is predicted that 170 million new jobs will be created by 2030, while 92 million may be replaced by automation. This net positive balance of 78 million jobs creates opportunities but also imposes challenges, demanding an urgent reskilling of the workforce.

However, Davos made it clear that the future of work doesn’t rely solely on technological skills. Creativity, resilience, and flexibility remain fundamental attributes in a rapidly transforming market. This combination of human and digital skills will be essential to handle the increasing complexity of the labor world.

Happiness at work was another highlight. Work environments that promote well-being are not just a trend but a proven necessity. Companies that invest in programs for work-life balance, mental health, and career development observe significant increases in productivity and talent retention.

Diversity and inclusion also proved to be indispensable for innovation and growth. Companies that value diverse perspectives are better prepared to solve problems creatively and tackle global challenges. Promoting inclusive cultures has become a strategic imperative for any organization aiming to thrive.

Corporate sustainability, in turn, gained renewed emphasis in Davos. Green practices are not just a social responsibility but also a way to attract talents who value environmental commitment. Thus, sustainability is becoming a competitive advantage in the market.

In a tone of caution, the leaders present emphasized the importance of a balanced approach. Technological progress must be accompanied by strategies that promote human well-being. Companies and governments are challenged to collaborate on reskilling programs and create organizational cultures that encourage continuous learning and innovation.

Davos 2025 left us with a clear message: the future of work requires that happiness, talent, and productivity go hand in hand. Only then will it be possible to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and human world in the AI era.

As we move forward, the real challenge will be ensuring that technology is used to create value and happiness for everyone. This is the moment to reimagine work and invest in talent, placing people at the heart of the digital revolution.
